Aundra Lafayette is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated from Pearl High School (now Martin Luther King Magnet School) in 1966. Her artistic journey began exceptionally early when, at just nine years old, she started dancing at Fisk University. This early passion for the arts defined her path; upon her high school graduation, she moved north to continue her training at the prestigious Philadelphia Dance Academy.
This move launched a prolific four-decade career on the East Coast. She established herself not only as a dedicated performer but also as a respected educator, sharing her knowledge and artistry with students throughout the region. For forty years, she immersed herself in the vibrant dance community, building a life and a legacy far from her hometown.
